If you have applied for residence, you will receive a residence placement via email in June, July or August. ✔ Accept your residence placement and pay your residence fees. While course enrolment does not start until July 20, you can plan ahead by checking out our New Student Guide for a step-by-step overview of how to choose and enrol in your first-year courses, including courses just for first-year students. FLCs are groups of 25 students registered in the same courses and labs who meet bi-weekly during the school year for academic, developmental and social activities. ✔ If you are a first-year student, apply for an optional First-Year Learning Community (FLC). The Faculty of Arts & Science, your college and an upper-year student mentor will email you over the summer about orientation events, academic and social programs like Arrive Ready, advising sessions and more to help you prepare for first year. ✔ Take advantage of transition supports (optional). Some require an application as early as March. Exclusive to first-year students, Ones programs combine small-group, theme-based courses with events and activities. ✔ Consider applying to a First-Year Foundations Ones Program.
